Joining the ACL PDF Print E-mail
The Asian Composers League offers the following benefits for member countries:
  1. Performance opportunities through the ACL Festival/Conferences
  2. Stimulation and professional development opportunities for composers through cross-cultural dialogue
  3. The ability to contact and connect with some of the most important minds in Asian music composition today
For organisations interested in becoming a member of the Asian Composers League, please follow the guidelines below:

  • The organisation should send a formal application to the ACL General Secretary < This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it >. The application shall consist of a cover letter indicating the intention and materials showing the organization satisfies the following criteria listed in ACL Statutes. If possible these materials should be in electronic-format (MS Word, PDF, or RTF).
  1. It must be a bona fide organization in its respective locality
  2. It must have a proven history of active existence for at least three years at the time of application
  3. Its objectives must be in conformity with those of the League
  4. It must be substantially representative of the composers active in its locality.
NB: If your organisation has an up-to-date website, please provide the URL.

  • The General Secretary shall then circulate these materials to the ACL Executive Committee who will discuss this application in our next meeting. If the application is approved in principle by the Executive Commitee, an agenda item will be tabled in the next ACL General Assembly (March 2009) for final approval by all member countries.

  • A representative of the organisation should attend the same ACL General Assembly to answer members enquiries. He/she should also prepare the ACL membership fee in cash of US$100 in case the application is approved.
